Description:
• Tá Quạ Banana is well known for its exceptionally large fruit, which is significantly bigger than other banana varieties, reaching the size of a human wrist.
• Each Tá Quạ banana can measure between 35 to 45 cm (sometimes up to 50 cm) in length and weighs around 300 to 450 g on average, with some exceptional cases exceeding 1 kg.
• Its nutritional value is comparable to that of potatoes, being rich in calories while also providing essential vitamins (A, C, and B6) and minerals (magnesium and potassium).
• This banana is particularly beneficial for individuals at risk of stroke, osteoporosis, and kidney disease. Additionally, it helps alleviate constipation, diverticulitis, and digestive disorders.
• Unlike regular bananas, Tá Quạ Banana must be cooked before consumption, as its flesh is too soft and bland when eaten raw. It is commonly used in dishes such as curries, hot pots, and is most frequently boiled.
• Due to its long growing period and difficulty in fruiting, Tá Quạ Banana has become rare and is now considered a specialty fruit of Cầu Kè District, Trà Vinh. However, this variety is highly adaptable to acidic soils.
